The leaf of a tree is
Like the wing of a gnat is
Like that of a dragonfly,
Seeded with threads bringing life
Like that of a titmouse is
Like that of a crow
Pummeling air to propel life onward
Like that of a mouse is
Like that of a lion
Pushing ground to move life forward
Like that of a sea otter is
Like that of a monkey
Grasping a rock to open nourishment
Like that of a human
When hand turned toward nurture is
Like that of an angel wing
Love-lifting life heavenward.
